Obsidian Security Expands its Reach to Google Cloud Marketplace, Elevating SaaS Security for Organizations Worldwide

9 April 2024 – Obsidian Security makes a significant expansion of its service accessibility by expanding its SaaS Security offering to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and making it available on the Google Cloud Marketplace. This strategic decision opens new doors for enterprises looking to bolster their security posture, offering them seamless access to Obsidian’s comprehensive SaaS security products directly while utilizing their GCP committed spend.

The Google Cloud Marketplace stands out as a pivotal platform that is reshaping how businesses access and deploy cloud solutions. As businesses continue to migrate their operations to the cloud, the need for a centralized, secure, and versatile platform has never been more critical. Google Cloud Marketplace meets this demand, offering a plethora of applications and services designed to enhance and simplify cloud computing for organizations of all sizes.

Based on hundreds of Incident Response (IR) engagements, the Obsidian threat research team has observed that Google Workspace was among the top three applications targeted by attackers in 2023. At the heart of this collaboration between Obsidian Security and Google Cloud is the mutual commitment to their customer’s security. As organizations face a significant increase in security breaches executed through vulnerabilities in their SaaS Security applications, malevolent actors seek to exploit any available entry point.

SaaS Security is quickly becoming a high priority for CISOs. The partnership with GCP ensures that their customers have the means to safeguard their SaaS applications seamlessly. Obsidian helps customers safeguard their Google Workspace environments, ensure appropriate posture configurations, and detect and prevent identity-based threats. Additionally, customers often have hundreds of applications connected to their Google Workspace environment, leading to potential integration risks from the perspective of data compliance and supply chain risk. Obsidian helps customers identify and protect against the risk of 3rd and 4th-party integrations.

As Obsidian Security carves its place within the Google Cloud Ecosystem, the implications for the cybersecurity landscape are profound. This collaboration not only simplifies the process of acquiring and deploying top-tier security solutions but also embodies the shared vision of both entities to create a more secure digital future. Organizations leveraging this partnership will find themselves well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern cybersecurity challenges, ensuring their assets and data remain protected in an ever-evolving digital age.
